Animation
Abstract self-portraits
I first invited my classmate Aki to draw my appearance and used the self-portrait she provided to create a second creation. Reproduce this self-portrait with curves, straight lines, etc. to make my self-portrait more abstract.
In this activity, I painted Aki's self-portrait, to learn how to paint self-portraits, and I can also learn more about my appearance through Aki's self-portraits. And have a more concrete understanding of abstract concepts. Abstract it doesn't mean painting without thinking, it needs to go from complicated to simple.
Dancing stop-motion animation
In this activity, we try to make animation. First, we need a reference object, we invite Penny from our team to dance and get his dancing posture through some applications, then we try to stop motion animation with these references. Our group thinks the stapler pin is an easy-to-get material. It can also create many movements and produced stop-motion animation.
Afterward, we combined this dance animation with music and special effects to create more interesting videos in class and learned how to control the rhythm.
Animation final project
In the last class, we need to make an animation, and then we set the theme of this animation as fake sleep「假寐」, which is derived from Penny’s experience of "fake sleep". When he is on a bus with a long journey, he would like to sit in the front seat on the upper deck. When other passengers sit on the seat next to him, he will close his eyes and pretend to sleep, and look out the window from time to time, and fantasize about the other passengers. What kind of person are the passengers? what are the passengers doing? And it is a kind of fear of the unknown?
Finally, we made this animation through a combination of realistic stop-motion and digital animation.
